Welcome to our 2011 Interns

Last week marked the kickoff of our Career Clarity internship program with our interns arriving bright and early Tuesday morning. They will be with us throughout the summer, working in account services, writing copy and doing various projects in our interactive department. Since they are already collaborating with us on several client projects, it only seems fair to give them a proper introduction here on our blog.

Account Services: Wesley Hewett, Hendrix

Wesley is a Little Rock native who just graduated with a degree in Psychology from Hendrix University. No, he is not here to psychoanalyze us (although we could probably use it), but rather to help our account executives manage the day-to-day work for our clients. He has completed other internships in Little Rock and was a Psychology department assistant in his final year at Hendrix.

Copywriting: Jillian Oyler, University of Arkansas

Jillian comes to us as a recent University of Arkansas graduate with a degree in Journalism. She may be new to the Sells Agency, but she is familiar with one of our clients as spent her last semester in school interning for the Fayetteville Town Center. In that internship, she conducted research and regularly blogged about local businesses for the “Find it in Fayetteville” campaign. Jillian was also a member of the U of A’s PRSSA chapter and wrote for the department of Journalism’s alumni newsletter.

Pixel Perfect Interactive: Landrey White, University of Arkansas

Just completing her junior year at the University of Arkansas, Landrey is an advertising and public relations major helping out with Pixel Perfect Interactive web development work this summer. Her previous work experience includes a summer spent volunteering with wild animals in Africa, so we knew she would be able to handle working with Thad.

We are so excited to welcome Wes, Jillian and Landrey to the Sells Agency and watch the program as it gets underway!

Food for Thought

If you know the Sells Agency, you are probably familiar with the fact that we like to eat. In fact, food is quite the cause for celebration for us, whether it is a random Taco Tuesday (today was!) or a full potluck to celebrate Boss’s Day or AmberFest. We take our food almost as seriously as we take our work, so when food and client work overlap there is simply no stopping us.

One of our clients, Arvest Bank, started an initiative in April to fight hunger across the four states it serves by raising 1 Million Meals or more. The campaign has been a great success, already surpassing 800,000 meals. After developing creative pieces and promoting the initiative, it is time for the Sells Agency to step up our involvement. This week we are bringing food to the office- not for us to eat, but to be given away for Arvest’s 1 Million Meals campaign.

We are excited to be helping feed those that are less fortunate and we hope you will help Arvest hit their goal in their final week of fundraising. All Arvest branches are accepting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for 1 Million Meals. For more information about their progress and how you can help, visit www.Arvest.com.

New Conway Regional spots to focus on specialties

We recently featured television spots we produced for Arkansas Tech here on our blog, and now we're shooting another television campagin - this time for Conway Regional Health Systems.

Shooting recently wrapped for the 2011 brand campaign, which features physicans practicing in their areas of expertise at the hospital. The three-day shoot covered a wide variety of different practices and included 11 docotors in eight different specialties. Our goal for the campaign, which will start running in June, is to raise awareness of the breadth of specialties and the quality of doctors at the hospital.

Check out some pictures from production and be sure to check back soon for the commercial!

Choosing Tech

Did you know that, according to research, Arkansas Tech ranks higher than any other state university in Arkansas in treating students as individuals?

We set out with an integrated marketing campaign to convert skeptics into students by proving that Tech sees more than how you look on paper.

Leveraging all of our specialties—print, television and online advertising – we show that Tech sees high school students as true individuals.

Check out these two television spots for the Choose Tech campaign on the Arkansas Tech YouTube channel.

Movin' On Up

Well we’ve moved on up, still on the east side (downtown), to a deluxe office in the sky (Lyon Building)!

That’s right, after several months of planning, plotting and picking, we have arrived – at our new office. While it is a mere two blocks from our last location, it seems like a world away. Our new offices are now all on one floor, with larger conference and production spaces. A lot of design thought went into the space, and it is definitely a reflection of the agency- lots of bright colors, fun shapes and a whole room with dry-erase walls! Not to mention loads more sunlight, which we can’t get enough of!

The space and the views are wonderful and we are excited to share some photos of the new digs with you.

If the photos aren’t enough, you can find the Sells Agency at:

401 W. Capitol Avenue, Suite 400

Little Rock, AR 72201

We can’t wait for you to visit!
